ADHD Self Check

Reflect on daily attention, childhood memories and everyday difficulties with 16 questions.

This 16-question self-check is inspired by topics in ASRS v1.1 and adds questions about childhood and daily-life impact. It summarizes answers in three sections; it is not the ASRS or a diagnostic tool.

Test structure

  • • 6 current-symptom items: frequency of inattention/hyperactivity
  • • 5 childhood items: whether it was present from early development
  • • 5 daily-impact items: functional impairment at work/relationships
  • All questions use a 5-point scale (Never–Very Often).

Notes

  • • This self-check summarizes your answers and does not diagnose or rule out ADHD.
  • • If attention or organization difficulties affect daily life, consider discussing them with a qualified health professional.
  • • Stress, anxiety, depression, sleep and other factors can also affect focus.

Questions and options are fixed in order, and you can go back anytime.

About This Content

This self-check has 16 questions: 6 about current experiences, 5 about childhood and 5 about effects on daily life. Choose one of five frequency responses for each question. You can go back to revise an answer.

The current-experience questions rephrase topics covered by ASRS v1.1. Childhood and daily-life questions are added, so this is a reference self-check with a different structure from the official ASRS. Results summarize responses meeting this self-check’s criteria in each area.

A score cannot diagnose or rule out ADHD. Professional assessment considers development, daily difficulties and experiences across settings. Sleep problems, stress, anxiety or depression can also cause similar difficulties. If concerns or difficulties continue, speak with a qualified mental health professional.
